Sharing at assembly

As we have been learning all about water this term for Art we created these wonderful pictures of ourselves snorkeling. We used lots of different skills to make these masterpieces; cutting, collage, sponge painting and dyeing. Today we shared them at assembly......  We sung the song Something in the water to accompany the sharing of them .  "What's in the water.........we are"

Hockey skills

We had a very fun time in the sun today practising our newly learnt hockey skills. We were spilt in half and played off each other scoring goals.... It was very exciting!!

LEAF ART!

We went to Harling Park for our Writer's walk today. When we got back to school we made some wonderful leaf creations, which will be a focus for our writing this week.

FOOTBALL CHAMP

Yippee! Super Phillip won the player of the day trophy for his team on Saturday.  KA PAI!

Precipitation Experiment!

We worked with Room10 to make it rain in a cup! We  used shaving foam and blue dye to create drops from the clouds(foam) to the river(water and dye in the bottom of the cup)

Keen scientists!

This afternoon Room 11 and 10 did an experiment to show how condensation is formed. This is when water vapour joins together to form drops. Ask your children about our experiment.

FOOTBALL STARS!

Today the Room 11 Lions played the Room 10 Lightning Strikes. It was 1-1 at full-time, so we had to have a penalty shootout. Sadly we lost 4-3. We look forward to the Jaguars game!

Acorn maths!

We used the acorns from our writer's walk for maths this morning.  We put them into groups of ten and then skip counted in tens to see how many we had.
We had to write a number sentence to go with our groupings.

Writer's Walk...

We went for a walk to the farm park this afternoon.  We found all sorts of seeds and leaves, a friendly cat and even a dead hedgehog!

Football Skills!

We had fun playing football with Jay from Marlborough Football this morning. We played stuck in the mud, terminator and then had two games. We are getting ready for our Junior Football tournament...Go Room 11!

We Are Done!

At assembly this week we stood alongside the rest of Punga Syndicate and sung the song We are done, by the Madden Brothers.

We have been learning the song for weeks now and did a super job singing it to the school!

Buddy Class Art

On Friday we met up with our buddies in Room 15 to start creating some murals. It was lots of fun working alongside our big buddies. Watch this space to see how they turn out in a few weeks.

We celebrate N.Z Sign Language Week

This week is New Zealand Sign Language week and we were very lucky to have a special visitor in to teach us some words and phrases. Room 11 would love to thank Mrs Patrick (and her assistant Piper!) for sharing her amazing knowledge  with us. Here are a few short movies we would like to share.

Hockey Skills!

We had fun learning and practising our new skills today.

Soccer skills in the sun.

Today with Room 10 we went outside to enjoy the sun and learn some soccer skills.

We learnt how to control the ball by dribbling, how to kick it using the side of our foot and how to trap it.

We then had a fun game to finish with.
