Geometry Fun!

We had a great time today making shapes with the geoboards and geometric shapes.

Superstar Spellers!

Today we celebrated the children who had for the last 14 weeks of spelling got all of their spelling words correct. 

Well done Ari, Jen, Nina, Riley, Hannah and Hayley for this AMAZING achievement! 

Mahi pai writers

Congratulations to Ryan and Jen who are the new people featuring on our classroom mahi pai board. Your winter writing was amazing! You both wrote pieces that really created an image of winter in our heads.

Gymnastics champ!

Hayley got certificates and a ribbon for her gymnastics in the weekend.  Kapai Hayley!

Awesome Nina got a trophy for her team on Saturday.  Great job!

Winners

Look what we won at assembly today. The much competed for "Rugga" award. This award is for the best singers during the sessions with Mr Holmes'. We were so excited to hear Room 11 won it this week.

Stomp!

We all had the best time watching the Wellington based drum band Stomp. They were very funny, talented and loud!

Lots of us couldn't even keep still watching them... We just had to keep moving to the great rhythms we were hearing.

CROSS COUNTRY TRAINING

Today Punga syndicate was out pounding through Harling Park practising for our school Cross Country which is on Tuesday the 30th of June. Our goal today was to pace ourselves so we can run the whole way around the course without stopping. Most of us achieved that today, we are getting so much fitter!

Buddy class

We LOVE meeting up with our big buddies in Room 15. At the moment we are making some mural art with them. Today was the first day of painting.... They are starting to look mahi pai!

Edible Gardens.

Today we were lucky enough to have Mrs Wentworth bring into class some of the fejioas from our gardens at school to make the yummiest smoothie.

We used milk, vanilla yoghurt, bananas and fejioas.

They were delicious!!

Bubbles!

Kakariki reading group followed the instructions from their journal today to make bubbles. We had fun chasing them!

We had lots of fun in the Life Education van today. We learnt about being nice to each other  and how it makes us feel happy!

Daffodil Making

We had a great time this morning making clay daffodils.  These will be glazed, fired and used in an art installation next year. We are doing this to help the Cancer Society, as they will be sold in 2016 after the display. Thanks to all our wonderful helpers this morning!

Winners at the stadium

Group 6 were obviously showing their best Witherlea behaviour this week as they received the top points from the stadium instructors and were lucky enough to all get stadium T-shirts. Well done group 6!

Last day of fun at the stadium!

We have had the best time at the stadium this week! Lots of new skills learnt and heaps of fun.

Survival skills

We had to practice jumping off the side of the pool and swimming on our backs wearing life jackets.
